What are you specifically looking for? There are several 55+ communities in the areas of Madison and Guilford and some more as you go toward Old Saybrook. What is the price range? What kind of ammenities?

we are looking for a community that has a lot of space aound it, a combination of single family homes , and possibly townhouses and or condo's . I guess we are looking for something that is more upscale , well built dwellings, well maintained , and with friendly neighbors and near the Sound and shopping . We don't want to live in a crowded and crammed community. We are willing to pay anywhere between 400 to 600 thousand dollars . Amenities would include the usual in such places i.e. swimming pool , club house;

Hi,
I don't know how soon you plan to move. But I'm betting this place will be worth the wait.

Madison Landing is going to be built near the Hammonassett State Park, close to town center. It appears the project has finally been approved for construction. How quickly are you planning to make a change?

Also check out Evergreen Woods (Evergreen Woods in North Branford, CT - Vibrant people creating vibrant communities.). It is on the border of Guilford and Branford/North Branford at Route 1 and Route 22. They have a good reputation. The age is mostly 70+ though, so keep that in mind.

Sorry, I don't know what the timetable for construction is. There is a place on their website where you can ask to be updated as to their plans.
