I think Bridgeport had over 60 in one year in the 90's.

Back then a lot of that was because of gang wars. A lot of what is going on now is because many of these gang members are being released from prison now and are going back to their old ways. I read several months ago that they were expecting these problems since these members were close to being released. Jay

It was probably in the Hartford Courant but it would have been months ago. Not sure who the article was quoting but the person noted that there were a lot of former gang members that were completing their terms in prison and about to be released. The person said to expect an increase in crime. Of course, the increase could just be due to the poor economy. Jay
