We purchased a home in the Hall HS area of WH, 3Bd 2 Ba, for <240. There are plenty of good houses outside of Elmwood for that price range.

I always hear from people in West Hartford and also on this website and realtors to go for Hall High school , it should be the best High school. But to my opinion Conard is performing also realy good , and I felt a more relaxed feeling with both schools Conard and Sedgewick Middle school, also more diversity, what I think is an important part of education , social wise. So we decided to buy our house in the Sedgewick - Conard area. It was funny to read a few weeks after our decision this rating on the MSNBC website that from the top 1300 High schools for 2007 Conard High school is rated Nr 262 and Hall High school Nr 668 also in 2006 and 2005 they were way higher rated then Hall and in 2003 Conard was still slightly higher then Hall, for 2004 there were no records for all schools. I was surprised to read this. My decision came from my feelings and not the reports. So I don't understand why everyone keeps saying if you look for a house in West Hartford go for Hall High school it is the best, It seems for at least 4 years in a row Conard is the best! But You have to go with what you think is the best for your kids, a school with all same kind of people or diversity!
