Hi,

What is the best way to commute from Wethersfield (or downtown Hartford) to Simsbury without a car?

Any express bus routes or known vanpools?

All inputs are appreciated.

Thanks

Check CT transit for the routes available. I believe that you would have to go out of downtown Hartford though. You might also consider joining a van pool like Ride Share. Jay

Unfortunately the CTtransit system is only really designed to bring people from the burbs to Hartford, and heading out to the suburbs for regular working hours can be tricky. There is a simsbury express bus service, with service from downtown Hartford to Simsbury. Last morning bus appears to be at 7:30 am, which seems very early unless you report to work at 8. Also means that if you miss the bus you will miss work, since the next out bound is at lunch time. You may want to call cttransit to see what they can do. I believe the number is 525-9181

There is a commuter bus between Simsbury and Hartford. I took it a few times, but don't remember the route number. The only problem is that it's schedule is designed to bring people into Hartford in the morning and out of Hartford in the evening, so if you're trying to get from Hartford to Simsbury in the morning, I think you will be out of luck.
