We will have a wedding guest list heavy on vegetarians, and would like to use our own caterer for a wedding reception somewhere within striking distance of Milford, Connecticut. We would like an indoor place, not outdoors under a tent.

Most of the usual wedding reception spots I have found in the area come with their own catering (exceptions are the Tarrywile Mansion in Danbury, which might however be a bit too small; and the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, which is too expensive.)

Any suggestions for banquet halls or other nice spots for wedding receptions where we can bring in our own caterer?

I have been to weddings at the Waveny House in New Canaan that are very nice. The place is owned by the town and is rented out to you. you bring your own caterer. It is very popular though, so you will need to book far ahead. Here is a link to their website. Jay

I went to a wedding at Waveny once, too. At that time it was less than $1000.00 for town residents (which the bride and groom were), and it's a little more for out-of-town residents. I was just trying to find out how much it is now (it's gone up) when I came across this link which offers additional locations for a Ct. wedding as well. Congratulations!
