I have some old clothes to donate to a charity. Is there a local charity in the Hartford area that would actually pick up the clothing from my home? I have a small baby and no time to go around looking for a bin to drop off the clothing.

Thanks

I found this...If you'd like to donate goods but can't make it to a Salvation Army drop-off point, call (800) 958-7825 to schedule a home pickup.

Salvation army will not pick up clothes. They would only make the trip if you have bulky items that don't fit in the car. Very picky in these hard economic times.

We got a notice in the mail a week or so ago that Hartsprings Foundation (Big Brothers/Big Sisters) are collecting small household items and usable clothes.

They ask that bags be outside and marked "BBBS."

They will be on my street to pick up on September 22.

Maybe they'll be in your area around that time too? Worth giving them a call. 413.732.7111 or toll-free at 888.413.2227
