im a junior right now

I have a 3.75 or above GPA
by senior yr I would hav taken AP U.S. History
Ap Calculus AB
AP Stat
AP Art History
AP Bio
and other things that are not ap but still honors or right below, Level 1
extra curricular activities: peer-tutoring, link crew(leading and helping the freshmen in my school), volunteering for more than 2years in hospital, animal club for 2 years

i moved from S Korea in 2005 and spent my 8th grade till senior yr in U.S.

have a passionate love toward animals, so im applying for animal science major or pre-vet

no award but im a decent violinist and hav a passion for singing

took satIIs: chemistry-grade not yet came out
math I-630(will take once more)
Korean-800
math II- not yet taken but will
U.S. history- not yet taken but will

would u tell me if i hav any chance of getting into the cornell?
will my extra curricular activities and academic history compensate my ACT grade?

ACT 31 = 1360-1400 (Old SAT) = 2040 (New SAT)
ACT 30 = 1320-1350 (Old SAT) = 1980 (New SAT)
Cornell University 25/75 percentile ranges: SAT range: 1950-2230, ACT Range: 28-32.

You are in the ball park, but, as you know, there is more to admission than test scores. Your other particulars look decent.

Math II will impress more than Math I. Your intended major, of course, will make a difference on how the scores are viewed. The grading curve is more generous with the more difficult Math II. You can miss more questions in Math II and still make a perfect score. So, you may do better in Math II if you do well in precalculus/calculus. 800 Korean subject test score is very good but will not carry a lot of weight, since you're Korean. Do well in the History subject test. Your extracurrics look fine. Write a great essay in your own voice. You have a shot.

Asian, from CT area, with average test performance and below average HS grades? You are anything but a lock. Good luck.

There are probably another 500 kids just like you applying from the Northeast, let alone the rest of the country. If you apply to an easy college, you might be OK. Don't apply to aerospace engineering or pure math or something similar.

Call me a jerk, but I'll tell it to you straight. I have been in your shoes.

if you dont get in try going to a community college for Vet tech and getting a 2 year degree for that FIRST then applying to a bigger college to move onto animal science/veterinary medicine.
If your grades at the 2 year were good you have a better chance of getting into a place like Cornell.

Also, UCONN is easier to get into and also has a animal science program so consider going their.
