Don't leave Philly for Central CT.

You will regret it.
Philadelphia is a crime free utopia compared to CT??????!!!!!!!!!

Philly lays claim to the highest murder rate in the country.

Crime Rates Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Meriden, Connecticut US
Violent Crime 8 3 3
Property Crime 6 6 3

The crime indices range 1-10. A higher number corresponds with more crime. Our crime rates are based on FBI data.

I copied this from the Sperling's Bestplaces site.

Please Note: First number is Philadelphia, Pa, Second is Meridan, CT, and Third is US.

The OP doesn't live in Philadelphia. She said they live outside Philadelphia, in "Hatfield Twp". I think we are getting a little off-track here. Hatgal, what does "Twp" stand for? I would like to look up Hatfield's information so I can find comparable towns in Ct., but I want to be sure I have your town spelled correctly.

Hatfield Township is rated a "2" in both categories - I looked it up.

The Op is not saying they ar emoving to Meriden, just that they got a job there. There are many safe areas near Meriden, some have been suggested here. Jay
