I am a working professional, recent got a job in downtown Hartford.
Read through so many great Apt threads here, narrow down my choices to:

A) Studio at Historic JB Williams Mansion, Glastonbury
or
B) Studio at Fairway Apt, New Britain

My golf passion steers me towards Fairway Apt which is next to the Stanley Golf Course.

Would like to hear your insight, especially on safeness around Fairway Apt area or golf around Glastonbury. Thank you very much.

There are a couple of courses in or near Glastonbury to play on, but I do know some people here who travel over to New Britain to play on their courses. The neighborhood around Stanley is good so that should not be a concern. I would check on both apartments and see which one you like better and then make your decisions from that. Jay

A friend of mine used to live at Fairway and she hated it, though I can't remember why specifically.

If you can afford it, I can't imagine why you wouldn't choose Glastonbury over New Britain. They are like worlds apart. The area around Fairway in NB is just down the road from CCSU, which is a safe area but it is heavily trafficked and Fairway is on Rt 71 which, aside from Route 9, is a main road connecting downtown NB, CCSU and West Farms mall/Corbin's Corner. A lot of college students live at Fairway (i.e. noise and parties are inevitable, and as with most apartment complexes I'm sure the walls are thin).

I'm not familiar with golf in Glastonbury but a quick Google search yielded quite a few links for golf/country clubs in Glastonbury and neighboring Wethersfield. Glastonbury is an upscale suburb of Hartford while New Britain is a struggling factory city with a lot of issues. I imagine that most of the people who play golf around Stanley don't actually desire to LIVE in the area.
