If you want to take your kids somewhere for a nice morning, go to Grayville Falls Park. Its a town park in hebron, near the airline trail (ask a local, its hard to find). Its one of CTs best kept secrets. Some of it is a bit neglected but it has a waterfall you can walk in and some of the most beautiful scenery in the state (it looks like the landscape from a lord of the rings movie).
Also, don't count out Teds because it is small, they have a huge range (a couple years ago they were voted #1 IGA in the world). I moved to Hebron about 10 years ago from the UK and have been amazed at the cosmo range of stuff they have - they have a small amount of a lot of products
