Is there a trick for flying into CT? I'm flying from orlando do you think it would be a cheaper to fly into a airport in ct other than hartford? Can you suggest a cheap/clean hotel. According to orbits the cheapest available (months in advace) has airfare & hotel for 3 nights @ $931.

The only major airport in CT is Bradley International (Hartford/Windsor Locks); you wouldn't be able to fly commercially into another airport in the state.

I don't know about hotels, but that obviously depends on what your final destination is after the airport.

Try Kayak.com for tickets/hotels. It searches all the ticketing sites (like orbitz, travelocity, etc) plus the airline websites, and shows you a calendar with the fares on each date so you can find the cheapest days to fly. I've had good luck with it.

I know that there are flights to/from CT to Orlando constantly, so I don't think your airfare should be that expensive. Depending on your planned modes of transportation, you can check prices to Westchester, NY airport as well. I flew from Westchester (airport code: HPN) to Atlanta once for $200 cheaper than it would have been to fly out of Bradley. Westchester is about 1-1.5 hours from Hartford. In the other direction is Providence, which is also about 1.5 hours from Hartford but it's not usually less expensive.

I understand that westchester has some cheaper fares than bradley. You might also check TF Green in Rhode Island and Stewart in New York. They sometimes are cheaper. Where in Connecticut do you need to be? There are less expensive local motels all over the state. Jay

We flew non-stop to Orlando from Westchester last year, and it was cheaper than Bradley.

Check out Southwest for flights from Orlando to Bradley they are usually pretty cheap- it doesn't ususally show up in searches on sites like orbtiz.
