What type of home could $350,000 buy you in these two towns in this present market. I am considering a transfer to one of those two cities within the next year and that will likely be my budget. Could you get a newer 3 bed, 2 bath home or an older fully renovated home at the same size?

In Danbury, $350,000 can give you a few different options. For those looking for a maintenance free lifestyle, you would be looking at 2 bedroom 2.5 bath townhomes with about 1700 square foot, open living room/dining room and kitchen, a room around 200 square feet finished in the basement, central air & gas heat &a 1 car garage built within about the last 10 years. Community amenities would typically at a minimum a clubhouse & pool.

For single family homes, you will most likely be looking an older homes. Mostly 1960s raised ranches with 3 bedrooms 1.5 or 2 baths, about 1700 square feet, anywhere from .5-1 acre lot & either a 1 or 2 car garage. Most have had some updates, but over the top and are in pretty good condition. You might be able to find a newer home in a neighborhood of smaller homes & of lesser values.

Good luck!

Jon
