What is the best town to move to with good public schools for 500,000 USD? Need to be near Trumbull.We are a family of five and would like a big home too.

There is already a current thread about Trumbull you can read. I would look in Trumbull, Monroe, Oxford, Newtown for family friendly towns with good schools.

To answer your question, it really depends what you expect for that price. The towns USMCFamily gave are very good choices. I would also add Easton and Fairfield to the list. They are a bit more pricey than the other towns but offer things that Trumbull, Monroe Oxford and Newtown do not.

Trumbull is a very suburban town, so having a car is important. It does not have a downtown area that is walkable. Fairfield has that and access to commuter trains into New York if that is important to you. Easton is very rural in character and is the location of several large reservoirs for Bridgeport's water supply. Most of the town has 3-acre minimum lot zoning. This gives the town a very rural feel. Needless to say that Easton and Fairfield are more pricey than the others so a home in your price range there would be more modest in size. All of these are excellent choices, it just depends on what you would prefer. Jay
