Anyone have any feedback on Shorter Term Rental while looking to purchase home in Avon?

We've been told that Avon Place, owned by Equity Residential Properties will do shorter term rentals...

How is safety of that apartment complex? Is the apartment community well run? Would you say it is more of a " professional "type of tenant clientele? Are tenants generally satisfied? Do they deliver on promises such as painting apartment before move-in, shampoo carpet, professional cleaning of all appliances, etc? Is Avon Place quiet? Any "mold issues" in apartments?????

Coming from a home, there are obviously concerns, but we don't want to jump into purchase in this market and then be regretful..

Thank you so so much for unbiased opinion on Avon Place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not too happy about renting, but we very well may have to before diving in...

Avon Place is quiet and a nice complex. I Would call them for a tour and let them know which size appt you are looking for as sometimes there are waiting lists to obtain an appt.

Hi Grace - you'd be better served by starting your own thread. For short term, you might want to try Craigs List.

There aren't any real bad areas of Avon, all rental communities have their pluses and minuses, it'll never be the same as owning. You may want to consider looking for an academic rental, try VRBO.com and the other vacation sites to look for monthly short term rentals.

agreed, no real bad areas in town - a few years back, Avon was rated the 3rd safest town in America.
