Hi
My husband got relocated to Stamford CT. I now live in Suffolk county, Long Island. We would like to move either to CT or Westchester. Can someone recommend nice areas, with moderate house prices. I have three children, two who will be entering school soon. He doesnt have a problem with a upto 45 minute commute to work.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

what is your definition of a moderately priced house? So are you saying you want good public school as well?

Hmmm...you'd have to look at Bridgeport or Stratford (25+ miles and a nasty commute away).

Trumbull is a very nice town. The commute is on the outer-edge of what your husband is looking for-- :40 Minutes without traffic. The schools are quite good and the quality of living is high. Another option may be to look at Fairfield. There are smaller 3 bedroom homes at the top of your budget. However, your husband could use the train from Fairfield and forget the traffic.

You should also looking in the Danbury/Bethel area. You get more house & land for your money than you do closer to Stamford. There are many homes available between $300-$400,000. It is about a 45 minute trip to Stamford.

Take a look at Monroe or Shelton. They are both an easier commute to Stamford from the Danbury area (highway vs Route 7) and while there will be traffic, it shouldn't take more than 45 minutes from either town.

I was going to say North Stamford but in that price range your just looking at condos. There are some single family homes in West Norwalk for under $375k. Great Areas. Try typing in Anson Road. Or Belfor Road. Or Cornwall Rd. Or Foxrun rd. Redcoat rd..You'll like the area for your 3 kids.

When you find something...send me a message I'll let you know my opinion on the area.

I would suggest Fairfield. It is a great town with excellent schools and the commute would be about a half hour by train. There is a wide range of housing options in Fairfield. In that price range you could find a nice modest home. Jay
