Does anyone know what happened to Palace Antiques in Putnam? Are the conternts being auctioned off somewhere or did they relocate?

Putnam Antiques district hasn't been the same since that fire... now another big shop has closed.

I wish they would add an Amtrack stop in Putnam... I'd take it to Mystic or Boston if the cost wasn't too high, and people from those areas could shop the Putnam antiques district.

Amtrak does not go through Putnam so they can't add a stop there. Putnam is in the quiet corner of the state. It is a pretty rural area with limited population so I doubt you would see train service there. Here is a link to information on antique shops in Putnam. Jay

Thanks all, but they are not at the Putnam location anymore, the shop emptied out last month and is listed for sale. It was 3 floors of stuff I think. I didn't want to contact them, I was just hoping someone knew were the dispersal auction was going to be.

A special tourist Amtrak train used to stop at Putnum a couple of times in the summer when the antique district was booming. I just wish it stopped more often. I'd like to take it to Mystic.

If you are looking for antiques, Seymour's entire downtown is antiques, and ... well... a pawn shop and tatoo parlor, LOL...but we don't talk about those. They don't really class up the joint.
