I might be taking a job in Stamford, CT. Would the commute from the Cheshire, Southington, Meriden area be miserable? Would I have to drive or could I catch a train somewhere in that area?

It wouldn't be a fun commute...that's for sure.

Your drive would be over 60 miles and commuting into Stamford is not fun during rush hour. You never know what you will encounter. Strongly suggest using mass transit by driving to either New Haven or Bridgeport and catching Metro North. Either way it will not be fun. Jay

You can take the Metro North from Waterbury too. Park there at your own risk.

I live in Cheshire and found Shelton to be the maximum that I'd be willing to commute at 45 minutes (an hour if I took Route 8).

No. Unless you like spending 2 hours total travelling to and from work. Are you looking to buy or rent?

Yes the commute would be horrendous.

I would look at points North of Stamford such as Danbury, Bethel, New Milford etc.
