Hi there,
I am new in Hamden, but I am looking for a place for my daughter to do ballet. She is 7. We are not looking for someplace training future prima ballarinas, but someplace that will be fun and low-key.... any recommendations?

based on my experiences.....
American Dance Experience - very small, no frills studio but nice, caring instructors.
Dance Unlimited - nicer space and some nice teachers. but much more intense, very focussed on competitions.
Neighborhood Music School in new haven (close to hamden line) is excellent too. much more "professional" but proper, formal training.
Jared Andrew Studio in North Haven is getting popular. It is a different type of school - no recitals but offers classes in different dance styles and he does theater and musicals for kids. he's a great guy who really helps kids find their inner talents in a low pressure enviroment and he has a nice studio too.
