America's 10 Brainiest States - MSN Health & Fitness - Nutrition (http://health.msn.com/nutrition/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100245092&gt1=31036 - broken link)

I know some people don't like these ratings, but I just thought it'd be nice to show yet another rating that shows how great our schools are!

I'm not sure why they include Washington D.C. (a city) as a state.

Not surprised most of them are in the Northeast.

Oh boy, here we go lol. I must say though, I was slightly less than surprised with the list on the second page, about the ten lowest ranking states. Not surprised most of them are in the Southeast lol.

D.C. is a bit surprising. Their education system isn't so good...

This article, or rather the "study" that it describes, is beyond silly - it's just comical. Or maybe it's that old acronym for faulty data-based studies, GIGO ("Garbage In, Garbage Out"). Connecticut DOES have great schools, but this study does nothing to prove that.

Get this:
"New Jersey (ranked eighth), for having one of the lowest rates of psychological distress in the nation."

If you've ever lived in New Jersey, you would know how absurd that statement is.

I just shake my head at what MSN will do to generate readers. It's the kind of article that a Rupert Murdoch publication would produce.
