Hi!
My husband and I are celebrating our 12 year anniversary this weekend. I'm looking for a romantic restaurant in either New Haven or Fairfield County. Money is no object but my husband doesn't like seafood. I would love to be able to walk to get drinks nearby afterward.

Thanks for your help!

You might like Da Pietro's in Westport. Romantic little spot along the Housatonic River. http://www.dapietros.com/dapietros/index.html

I think you mean the Saugatuck River. The Housatonic River runs between Stratford and Milford. Jay

I've got no idea -- we live in-land -- but HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and congratulations on reaching the dozen.

I've only been to the Cobb's Mill Inn in Weston once. I wasn't impressed with the overall value, but it does fit the romantic definition, IMHO. I haven't tried the Red Barn in Westport, but that also has a reputation for being quieter.

Edited to add: These are destinations. You won't be able to walk to somewhere afterward.

Il Palio in Shelton, though you can't walk to a nearby bar, you'd have to drive a mile or two.

Le Petit Cafe on the Branford green. Easy walk to bars nearby.

Cobbs Mill Inn and Red Barn are both terrible in my opinion. More fit for someones 75th anniversary than the 12th. The last time I went to the Red Barn I was the only person there under 70.
