Hi all,
Does anyone here know the state of things in Lake Hayward (just outside of Colchester CT)? I grew up there and had a lot of family that did too, been back a few times over the years and things seemed to have changed and not only the house prices! I always thought I would bring my children back there and maybe get a summer cabin, but not if it has changed SOOO much. Do they still have Lake Hayward days? Are the geese still a big issue with polluting the lake? I would love to hear anyones input of Lake Hayward community.

Waterfront homes cabins etc can very expensive around Lake Hayward now-
however the Real estate market is softening quickly in Connecticut- you may be able to pick up a bargain.

Thanks for the info.
I would love to hear from someone who knows what I am talking about when I say "...what Lake Hayward used to be". If there is someone out there that remembers what it was like in the 70's and early 80's. How has the community changed since then?

I used to spend summer time in Lake Hayward in the mid 60s!- That goes back- there is more development around the lake now- back then it was wonderful.

Lake Hayward has changed greatly. We still have Lake Hayward Days. Geese are not as problematic but still there. All in all get a place there.

If you do not mind me asking..what is you last name? I also grew up there.I first moved there in 1966 and hung around Rick Laflamme and Mark Gallagher.

Small world! But I believe you are referring to Sean Gallagher, he was the oldest and there isn't a Mark out of the 6 that I can recall. Check you DM. We probably know each other, or at least each others families.
