Hi,

I'm soon going to be moving from Norwalk to Stamford and I'm looking for a cheap moving service. I don't have a lot of stuff, just enough to fill a 1 bedroom and nothing is incredibly nice, it's mostly cheap ikea stuff, so I think I need anything great or a big truck.

I've been mostly moving myself for the last few years and I just really don't want to do it again and I'm in a bit of a time crunch, so I just want to get moved as fast and painlessly as possible.

Does anyone know of an inexpensive moving service in the area that would be able to get me moved fairly quickly in an afternoon?

Thanks for any help!

Everytime I've gotten a truck at Uhaul in Stamford there have been day laborers milling about looking for work. If this is something you're comfortable with, they could be a big help in moving you fast for not much money. Another option is to look at the "Moving Help" section on the UHaul website which is a clearinghouse for independent movers (without trucks) which have been rated by previous customers. They tend to have 3-4 hr minimums which gets pricey.

Wow, I didn't realize Uhaul had a moving help section. I think that's exactly what I need.

Thanks for pointing that out!
