Cutting down the quotation would help immensely.

Only the bridges on the Merritt Parkway are designated historic. That does not necessarily mean they can not be removed though. The road has been designated as a "Scenic Highway" which also does not mean it can't be touched but it does mean it needs to follow certain quidelines for design and aesthetics. Jay

I live right off exit 50 (about 300 feet from the exit) and I absolutely hate taking the merritt due to this stupid *** **** construction thats gonna take 50 years to complete. its gotten so bad that if I'm comming back home from my g/f's rehab center in Middletown, I'll take 691 over to 84 and down to 8. Even though it takes about 25 minutes longer then shooting right down the Wilber cross and Merritt, but at least i know what I'm gonna get on 84 & 8 and thats basically no traffic (especially on 8) unless its right around rush hour. Who knows what I'll get on Merritt.

Do you know what hours they are doing this work? I have to make about one trip per week thru January to Hartford in the late afternoon from Westchester County, returning back in the evening (maybe 8 or 9pm-ish). I'll probably just take 84 to 684 (which is virtually equidistant for me vs. 91 to the Wilbur Cross/Merritt) but as I like the lack of trucks on the parkways, thought it would be worth checking, thanks!

it varies. Last week (Thursday) was my last regular class before my exam at NCC tonight, and I was 35 minutes late to class because I got stuck in the middle of that construction, and that was at 6;30 PM when that happened to me.
