I realise this is an out of the way commute of 59 miles but is there anyone out there currently doing this? The tax rates of Warren are very low and the home you get for a comparable price in Redding is just unreal so just a thought that was passing through.

I have 2 colleagues that commute from New Milford and it's a hellish commute. Warren is even further north of New Milford. It won't be worth it, IMHO.

I know someone who commutes from New Milford to Mt. Vernon (lower Westchester county) but does it "off hours" (7am to 4pm) so doesn't have too much trouble, but I imagine it would be torture at rush hour.

During the temporary assignment I was doing in Hartford this summer, there was someone who actually commuted from Warren to there for a comparison and it was also long, I think similar to your 59 mile distance and took her well over an hour (hours were 8-4) but mainly did it because it was a temporary 2-3 month thing.

So I would say don't do it unless you have to, but either way good luck!

That would be easily a two hour commute each way. I doubt it would be worth the wear and tear on your car and on you. JMHO, Jay

No way. I know someone also who commutes from southern New Milford to Norwalk and it is nothing short of hell. From Warren to Stamford just seems unreal. Keep in mind Route 7 is stop and go and there will be lots of traffic.

Do you have a helicopter?

Warren is a wonderful place to live and well worth the commute from anywhere. My husband does it 5 days a week minimum and it is far less nightmarish than the rt8, merrit pkwy hell he was doing. He crosses the border in NY and does I believe 22, 684, and then dips back into CT to get to Stamford. Do-able, but not for everyone- judging by how old your post is, I'm sure you've already made a decision...
And if your looking for a real estate agent, I'd be glad to help!
