Anyway, the snow reports are now saying Ct. gets a break this afternoon, with snow squalls later. And freezing temps tonight, making travel hazardous. The roads will be very icy.
Oh boy!

It definitely has "that January feeling" for this ex-Montreal chick.
When I left Bridgeport today at 2 it had been quite ended and going home west on 95 I saw the sun from Norwalk on (and where it was sunny a lot of the snow had melted).

I'm in upper Fairfield County. It's going to be a surprise for some parents, because stations are not reporting all the school dismissals/kindergarten cancellations.
I have a coworker who lives in Ridgefield and he drops his son off before school. Saw nothing on the news about it or any nearby districts delayed, went slow on icy roads and got to school "late", only to find out it was a delay. Oh well....

Yeah, I looked outside 30 or so minutes ago and saw the bright sunshine... just in time for sunset and the deep freeze. Yikes! Drive safely if you're going out again.

Good job! And after a short reprieve (from 3.00pm until just a few minutes ago), it's snowing again -- harder than ever.

I find that the difference from south Norwalk to West Norwalk is crazy. Only a 7 minute drive difference yet it's snows a couple inches more each time.

I guess population and heat from humans are actually warming the air.

Snowman, it also has to do with inland vs. shore, while we don't have the drastic effects it has on the west coast, there seems to be a significant difference in temperature and snowfall even a few miles inland from the Sound. Though some it is is the greater population and urbanization right on the Sound, which also adds a little heat (plus snow doesn't stick as quickly to concrete).

By the way, NWS is now talking about a snowstorm Tuesday night into Wed (2/2-3)

Yay beautiful snow! I was very happy this morning. They get our roads plowed so fast that I've found I don't really miss a beat with the snow here, where it seemed to cripple Virginia.
Ahhh, I was happy. Snowman, you were right!
Thank you Wavehunter for that info. I lived outside of Richmond and they say 12 inches is average but I swear, it would snow and literally be mostly melted 30 minutes later. An hour later it wouldn't look like it snowed at all!
I think we got close to 12 inches in 05 and then maybe they got 12 after we moved in 09.

Okay so maybe Feb will make up for January.

How often does Central CT get a white St Patrick's day? Is that pretty rare?
