Does this look like Im being giddy? Granted its just one model (which has been consistant with this senario) but.. a 975mb Low off Long Island?..

To put it in perspective..The Dec. 26th Blizzard was a 967mb Low. The last storm which brought 2 feet of snow was 995mb Low...

I'll drop down a notch and be conservative going with 5-7" for NYC, 8-10" for CT with local amount to 12". Better?

Getting a little stir crazy here.

I'm trying to figure out when to remove the wet and icy snow from the driveway. Too early and I have a 400 ft bobsled run. Too late and I have a driveway full of frozen snow as hard as concrete.

What to do?

my dad whent out earlier with the snow blower and lifted most of it and now its a slip and slide on the drive/paths...but had he waited wed be hand shoveling it cause the blower wont shift solid ice...
the roads are a slushy mess around here and we switched to rain a while ago...
im dreading the morning when all this wet will have frozen overnight into one big ice skating rink.

hmm, i may have to get some of those non skip ice grip things...i have a phobia of falling down, and im already prone to it on flat none slippy ground...

I thought someone was on here not too long ago predicting 40s & 50s for most of January...hopefully that wasn't you Cambium?

I'm fine with all this snow...it's this *&^%$ freezing rain I despise.

According to weather.com and Accuweather, this, um, "stuff" is supposed to stop at about 6pm - 7pm in West Hartford.

My front and back lawns are already skating rinks.

foxywench: My husband got me a set of these at Lowes:

Amazon.com: Due North Everyday Snow and Ice Traction Cleats - S/M with storage pouch - A17176 01: Health & Personal Care

The reviews are awful -- they say that they come off the boots/shoes -- but I had GREAT luck with them this afternoon.
