UPDATE SNOWSTORM JANUARY 21

Last night 2 more runs of the models backed off the idea of a big storm.. The Euro jumps on board regarding a storm on the coast but gives precip of .25-.50 to us... Snow ratios will be high due to the temps being in the 20s so even 1/2 inch precip equals 8 inches of snow.

I always try to avoid giving my My personal feelings about storms but here it goes short and sweet:

The timing of this storm is correct: Friday morning to Friday Evening. It will be a fast mover. While the Jan. 12 was a 12 hour storm dropping 16-24 inches this one does not have the moisture and the entire setup is different. For one the Jet Stream is flat not robust. We will see snow, if the storm gets its act together we'll see a foot for sure...If it cannot then we'll see 2-4 inches. So its not the track this time we have to watch for, its the development off the coast. And what have storms done this year so far...developed off the coast.... A pattern change is coming....when, we dont know...It will come... If this does not develope it could be here.. Patterns change every 8-12 weeks I find. We been in this coastal storm pattern for about 10 weeks now.

Perhaps we should wait until the storm actually arrives to draw these conclusions.

Some meteorologists still going with 6-10 local spots in CT.. Maybe they are seeing something Im not...because the models last night and this morning do not have a robust system.. The models are saying 2-5 with 6" in local spots.

Lets see what happens today and tonight.

And what conclusions are you guys talking about? There were no "forecasts" made...follow my lead and read...lets go by what the models are telling us "at that particular point in time" ..

You dont have to be a genius to realize that here. This should be fun not a childs right/wrong game.

STORM UPDATE

I see why some are forecasting spots to get to 7-10 inches... The snow ratios could be as high as 25 or 30:1.. Thats just crazy.. That means for every inch of liquid that falls its 25-30 inches of snow.. This storm doesnt have a lot of moisture with it and models are suggesting .25 liquid to fall with some spots in CT to get .40........ So 1/4 inch of liquid is 7 inches...Now I see why they are saaying up to 10...

Its going to be a fast mover ... 6-10 hours its over. Afternoon commute should be ok...morning commute maybe a little messy... Kids should have just a delay worse case senario.

Clipper snow on the Monday the 24th..just a light 1-2" snow.
