Not sure, what little I could find on it isn't clear, I know he was born in Beacon Falls but I think he moved to White River Junction, VT when he was a little kid.

Oh please let these winters happen every year like they should. I'll take the season change but please let it be like this winter every year!
I wonder if that would be the greatest snowcover in US weather history? If I were to guess at the "record" I would think that brief point in 1977 when even about half of Florida had a light snowcover......

:::Let me show you something to prepare you:::

First let me say...we WILL warm up well into the 40's maybe even 50s in CT in 2 weeks but here's what you have to go through to get to that point..

Next week, the nation as a whole will see something that has been extremely rare as a whole nation. Temps will be under 30 pretty much around the entire lower48, Connecticut will be near or under zero.

This map shows specifically for Feb. 11th... the other days surrounding this day are similar but not exact. This is the worst day of next week. I just wanted to show you because it's an insane picture to see as a whole nation under a freeze.

Just look. Texas 20s. Florida 20s. Georgia Teens. Tennessee Below 0. Upper Mid West negative teens.

And I wont mention the worst storm of the year that same week marking the potential change in pattern.

~ 3 of top 10 snowstorms on record have occured within last 11 months, looking back over 141 yrs.

~ In 13 cities, 4 of the Top 10 snowstorms on record have occured within last 10 years and Balitimore & Philadelphia is in that.

~ 3 of the top 10 wettest days on record have occured within last 10 years in 22 cities. Including Atlanta, Chicago, NYC.

Atmosphere is different including moisture its creating. Have any of you noticed lightning how different and more intense it looks... And how more thunders rolls and shakes the ground as opposed to a boom in the air?

If I read that map correct it shows -4 for NYC, if that's Central Park it would not only be its first subzero in 17 years but the coldest temperature since 1943! (though in 1985 I think both Newark and Bridgeport hit -7). I'd normally be pretty skeptical but I imagine how rare the 29-deg and sticking snow in BROWNSVILLE, TX (at the latitude of Miami and on the Gulf Coast) that happened today is.

Latest one just came out... Starts Snowing in CT Feb. 10th 1am... moderately by morning, mix along the coast by mid morning, back to heavy snow by early afternoon...

Thats 2 runs in a row of a major snowstorm for CT with this model.

EDIT: !! 1.64 QPF ON THIS RUN....I would say .50 of that is mixed stuff and 1.14 is snow. Thats a 10-14" blizzard.

This looks to be stronger than the Post Christmas Blizzard.
Cambium that is 7 days out. This storm has not even developed yet how do you know of the exact details so far out?

6 -10 days - Potential confirmation
3-6 days - track confirmation
0-3 days - precip amount & temp confirmation

Anything I say is based on the models I see "At the moment". The liquid amount is obviously based on the particular model which of course is subject to change I then look at the 850mb temps to catch the precip type.

Nah I believe you, only reason I didn't think last February is if I remember right the weird thing being that much of upstate NY and central/northern New England had below normal snowfall so I thought that was the difference. Obviously there was a ton of snow to the south.......

FYI On Next Weeks INSANE Pattern Changing Storm.

The models have a 985mb Low off Jersey then a 940mb low in Canada - THAT IS AN INCREDIBLE DROP IN SUCH SHORT TIME!

Just to compare that for informational purposes... Its similar to what Hurricane Katrina and Wilma did.. Tropical Storm to Cat 3 or 4 Hurricane IN ONE DAY!!! The intensity and strength is unimaginable.

How many times do models show this? How many blue moons have there been?

And another FYI...Post Christmas Blizzard was shown 7 days before.

:: LARGE SNOWSTORM FEBRUARY 10, 2011 UPDATE::

4 ? ??

4 in a row...
Latest model has the Blizzard

The consistancy is getting scary this far out. Virginia gets a Blizzard. NYC. Boston gets mixing issue on this run. Close to 2 feet for parts of CT..

Sleepless nights are here again. This will be bigger than any storm this season. If this solution verifys and stays where it is.
