lmfao! Love the humor..

Add another run for a Mainland hit. It hitsThe 11am GFS run hitd South Carolina and moves inland. Would give us heavy rain and Tropical winds up here.

latest model has it over haiti on the 23rd then the Bahamas on the 25th... hitting SC on the 26th and CT starting on the 29th.

but if you look at those details on every run..it will drive you nuts becuase it will shift a lot.

Bottom line is..time frame of 25th-28th Carribean islands and south coast are at risk.

I'm curious, is this a storm that already formed? If not, how do the models know this?

Its amazing how the long term models are able to forecast areas of low pressure in the tropics now. They cant tell how strong or where they go but can tell depressed areas of weather10-12 days out...come a long way

COASTAL CT HURRICANE POSSIBLE.

The last run is trouble for us... In fact...the last run is a spitting image of the coastal blizzard we had post Christmas(which showed 10 days before). It has a hurricane sitting off Long Island.

Do you guys think I'm Jinxer? I said we would get hit this year many months ago.

Good news::::::::: 39 more model runs so anything can change.

Bad news:::: Time frame is the same and the general path is south to NorthEast.

A wild estimate based on this run.. 60mph wind gusts and over 6" of rain in 48hrs closer to coast.

The second wave off Africa would be the system.

As far as how models show that far in advance...They base it on atmospheric conditions, pattern recognition, teleconnections, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and all the good stuff. lol. Thats why its a general and not a specific because so much can change within 2 weeks.

I know a lot of people are NOT clicking this thread and reading this but I think we should at least know our hurricane preperation plans. Doesnt hurt to think ahead.

Models CONTINUE to hint at a system heading up the coast.
If I see a strong possibility or high risk I'll start a new thread.

Until then... think ahead... I'm thinking sandbags...Trees not so much since they are far enough from the house. Sideways rain is a killer.

Maybe I'll even go out and spend a few bucks on 5" gutters.
