Never been in a blah blah mood about weather as I have been past 2 days. If we cant trust models 48 hrs out its just a "look out your window" theory.

Anyway -- Bigger story next 7 days is:

Sunday February 18, 2012 Storm Update

Cold air in place. Storm comes from Gulf exits North Carolina. Last Euro gives Baltimore 8-12" of snow. Pink dots represent track. Too far east for us(again) but still gives coastal CT 3-5" here. (Sound Familiar??)

A track shift 50 miles west from this point and we have ourselves a 10" snowstorm.

Only difference now is we wont have to wait for the cold front...it's already going to be over us by weekend.

Ooops, thanks. The day was right, the number was wrong. Sunday the 19th. But its still 5 days out it could come faster on Saturday or slower on Monday. We'll get better idea on timing tomorrow. It could also just be sunny or partly cloudy if it stays far enough South.

Mid Atlantic has more threat than us for this one. Go figure. lol

I’m actually starting to feel bad for winter/snow fans. In terms of the odds and what the pattern in the next two weeks looks like….time is truly running out for them to get any snow this winter in the Tri-State area.

In a sense, it really doesn’t matter if we get any snow in the last few weeks of winter at this point: The bulk of winter 2011/2012 is over and this will go down as a mild winter in the Tri-State area. Granted, Connecticut/Tri-State area is not in the snowbelt and we normally don’t expect a lot of snow anyway - but essentially this year had no winter. Places like Seattle and London are beating places like NYC, New Haven, and Trenton, NJ in terms of snowfall this winter - lol.

Only a 99 yard pass with 0.2 left in the game can save this winter from a huge snow defecit. We're at the 2:00 min warning for winter 2011/2012.

Well...as normally a snow lover...I will submit that after the October 29 debacle, I had my fill for the season! Now I'm looking ahead to outdoor biking weather...

Sunday February 19, 2012 Storm Update:

The latest GFS just out has sun and warm for the weekend. Take your pick.

last storm GFS was correct in this time frame so...who knows. I dont understand what data the models are being fed that gives them such drastic opposite results.

Actually we usually only on average have about 2/3 of our total snow done at this point. I wouldn't quite say (normally) that it is over yet.

That said, I do think we're not going to get much more snow the rest of this winter. And once we get past the first week of March, if we do, it will either melt right away or will not stick to the roads anyway.

And the Euro says Ba Bye Storm, go Fish. OTS. It even has upper 50s lower 60s for us next week. Add a couple degrees to these numbers from the SouthWest flow. Should hit 70 next week in Virginia

Enjoy the year everyone, see you all next Fall. lol
