I know there are many winter fans but they should be realistic. Warmer than normal conditions will prevail all around us in the coming 4 to 6 weeks. We will be lucky if we see any snow before late December according to much of the short term data:

Just ask Bret:

AccuWeather.com - Brett Anderson | Weekly Long Range Forecast Outlook (http://www.accuweather.com/blogs/anderson/story/39024/weekly-long-range-forecast-outlook-1.asp - broken link)
Not true...most models show a cold period late Oct to early Nov..nobody should see any snow other than a flake or two in higher elevations in CT..but it will be in the 40's for daytime highs come Nov. 1 or so for all people inland off the coast..that is not warmer than normal by any stretch.

Nowhere in Connecticut is above 3000 feet. Only a handful of places in western Mass. get above that, around the Mount Greylock area.

Not real sure where you got that info from but that is not what AccuWeather/NOAA is saying based on the models. Bret showed above normal warmth to the north/west of the Tri-State area (in southeast Canada), the last week of October and the first two weeks of November. high temps will be well into the 50's maybe even low 60's now and then through mid November in most areas of Connecticut. Keep in mind, even if what Bret/models showed was all wrong, and temps were just normal - the normal high is most of Connecticut in November is over 50 F.

Things starting to get interesting!!!!

The upper level trough is going to be digging deep and moving east!

Halloween weekend will bring upper 20's to low 30's around here.

Meanwhile some fronts coming through..
Oct 30th give or take 1 day and Nov. 3rd give or take 1 day...during these times its possible points in virginia could see flakes..nyc could get snow..

Don't worry its not going to be a foot or half foot but even just seeing snow is interesting this time of year...

I hope this pattern stays! Once coastal waters cool down then we can hope for a coastal low riding up the coast with cold air in place to give us that big storm. :-)

Lots of interesting things happening..the change is refreshing to see instead of the warm temps and little precip.

Where on earth are you seeing this?

Joe Lundenburg (AccWeather)says after a very brief cool shot Friday…it will get very mild this weekend, and next week along the East Coast. In fact he says that daily highs could be in the upper 60’s to lower 70’s across the Tri-State/mid Atlantic (4:04 – 4:25 in the video):

AccuWeather.com - Joe Lundberg | Fleeting Cool Shot Followed by Bigger Warmup (http://www.accuweather.com/blogs/lundberg/story/40333/fleeting-cool-s.asp - broken link)

If your hoping for a quick cool down of the Atlantic think again – lol. High temps in the 60’s and 70’s this weekend and next week will not only keep any cooling from taking a foot hold...but it will keep ground and sea temps high. This is the kind of pattern that will only reinforce lows to head toward the eastern Great Lakes this winter. That storm you might be looking at in the models next week (a 50/50 chance)....will head right for the Great Lakes. A low heading through the Great Lakes = warm air on the East Coast as southerly winds flood the region from the subtropical southeast and warm Atlantic. Trust me - it will not snow.

Cambium likes to take a cold model and blow it up to suit the worst possible case.. It never seems to happen.

But wave,,,I dont agree about the temps..it WILL get below normal around Halloween. There is no doubt it won't snow, but it will be colder than average for a 4 days stretch in that timeframe.
