Any rain for next week?

God I can't wait for those October/November days when it's cold and cloudy

Torrential rains possible today but wont be widespread. It will be here and there with small cells that could produce severe weather (no hail) Highest chance of severe would be Fairfield county. Evening commute could become a mess.

Next chance of rain is Monday when a small clipper drops down.(light rain) Then it stalls over Maine and gives us the "chance" for showers everyday next week. I guess we should expect clouds again.

But as far as organized systems bringing widespread consistant rain, I dont see it yet. Looking pretty dry again.

Nice weekend ahead. Dry and Normal temps this weekend. Below normal Monday-Thursday. Back to warm next weekend. Wash rinse repeat. Pattern starting to change, this heat wave was the sign.

Question is, will we go to normal or above normal for July/August

Cold front with 60s and 70s behind it is in Ohio Valley and near Great lakes right now.

I was sure June 2012 would finally break the 14 consecutive months of above normal monthly mean temps at area NWS stations.

Now I’m not so sure.

With the 95 F days and 70 F nights of the last few days…monthly mean temp averages have surged upward at several NWS STATIONS; I checked a few this morning, NWS Bridgeport stands at 67.5 F (0.1 F above normal), Trenton, NJ is 68.8 F (0.8 F below normal), and NWS LaGuardia is 70.6 F (0.3F below normal). Daily mean temps should be above normal at least through Sunday (highs in the upper 80’s and lows in the upper 60’s). This might be enough to push more NWS stations back to normal and several will go above normal. Next week looks cooler but still not much off averages (77/62 for NYC for example) and sunny/dry. So it seems a good bet that stations like Bridgeport or LaGuardia might end normal and maybe even above normal again.

Word of advice today... Dont park your car in a low lying area where it floods. The map below shows the amount of water in the atmosphere right now.. So there's a chance if your caught inside these thunderstorms later on, there could be flash flooding with intense downpours.

Threat Should be 4-11pm.

(Precipitable water is the amount of liquid water, if all the atmospheric water vapor in the column is condensed.)

They suspended the game at the Travelers Tournament due to t-storms in the area. Looks like the radar is about to start firing up in reds and yellows.

Thanks. And there's no warning on it. This is just the beginning. It could get nasty after 5pm. Cold front not here yet.

Northern Litchfield county better get ready. That cell looks INTENSE with a warning on it. Stratford should end quick now. The amount of rain inside these cells is impressive!
