Hi:

I am possibly relocating to the CT area. I am looking to live somewhere between Hartford CT and Springfield MA. It looks like Windsor Locks, CT is right in the middle of both cities. Can anyone give me any information on Windsor Locks?

Its just me and my spouse for now, but we'll probably be looking to have kids in the nearer future, so safety is the most important criteria. We want to live somewhere we can walk around the neighborhood basically.

We're also just getting started really, so we're looking for a less expensive area. Obviously there are some beautiful areas in Hartford County, but Windsor Locks looked less expensive than the other areas that are in the middle of Hartford and Springfield.

I don't mind being in a working class area as long as it is safe. We're pretty quiet and keep to ourselves, so a huge nightlife isn't that important either. For the most part we're outdoorsy people and love sports. We don't mind traveling a little bit for that stuff though.

So whats your opinion on Windsor Locks? Also what neighborhoods are nice to live in? We'll probably buy a townhouse or small detached house. We definitely need a backyard, but it doesn't need to be huge.

Also how would the commute be to Hartford? How would it be to Springfield?

Thanks in advance.
