Oh yes, Martha made everyone's life a living hell in Westport. She was rude, cocky and sued anyone who complained. What do most people in Westport have to say about her leaving? GOOD RIDDANCE!! My sympathies to those in Katonah.

CT has many celebs in Fairfield and Litchfield Counties...there are just way too many to name them all, but I'll name a few more. Diane Sawyer, Rosie O'Donnell, Michael Bolton, Mia Farrow, Imus, Judge Judy, "Fiddy Cent" (actually in Farmington, but moving), Meg Ryan, The Donald, Katherine Heigl, etc. If you take a stroll down Greenwich Ave, you're sure to see someone famous.

Also don't be surprised if you come across Anne Coulter!!!!

Former 'Monkee' of the famed rock group of the 60s Peter Tork lives in the 'quiet corner' of CT.

By the way, Martha is making the people of Katonah really upset now. she is trying to trademark the name "Katonah" for a line of furniture she has. The town is fighting her on this, since it could prevent anyone from using the word "Katonah" in their business names (like the Katonah Flower Shop for example). Who knows, maybe next she will try to trademark the name "New York". Thank goodness she is now their problem, not Westport's. Jay

I wonder if her grade school report cards said "Does not get along well with others." Hmmmm - mine always said "Talks too much in class." LOL

Sara, Congrats to the husband on his new job. (I'm "OHtoCT" on this City data thing which I don't exactly know how to use yet) My husband and I are concerned about the diversity issue too. I was relieved when I read your posting. We are going first week in July to check out the area and see if we get a good feeling or if it is as Stepford as it could be. I hope they have good coffee there! And yes, you will have to buy coats and you want to get the convertible mittens that are gloves on the inside with mittens on the outside because they are awesome and snuggly.

You are very helpful. I'm relieved to read your words about money and not bragging.
Thank you, OHtoCT

I'm new to the boards too - a friend in Meriden sent me the link last week and I've done nothing but read tons of threads - it's really given me a feel for the community and some fabulous info.
