Does anyone have any input into what the neighborhoods by Lake Mohegan are like? Are there roads that become more busy or congested during the summer? Is it family friendly? How is the North Stratfield School?

Any info is appreciated! Thanks!

When you say Lake Mohegan, I am assuming you are talking about the neighborhoods immediately surrounding the lake itself and not all of Lake Hills which is really the area the lake is located in.

The Lake Mohegan area is very nice. It is family friendly. I know people that live there and love it. It has nice homes on decent sized lots. Some streets are hilly but not too bad. Try to stay off of some of the busier streets like Tahmore Drive and Morehouse Highway. They get a little busy and have issues with speeding vehicles. That said, I do have friends on Tahmore and they really do not mind it and say it is not that bad.

As for schools, North Stratfield is excellent. You can find more information on it and the schools in Fairfield on the links below. I hope this helps. Jay

I live near there.

It's a very nice area. As long as you live on a side street, traffic won't be an issue at any time of year. Lake Mohegan is not a really heavy traffic area in any case, so I don't think there's be a noticeable difference in traffic between summer and other times of the year.

I've heard only good things about North Stratfield School. All in all, it's a very desirable area and I'd have no reservations about moving there myself, provided it was the right house and location within the area.

There's some diversity of housing type in the area. It ranges from some smaller cottage-type houses that used to be for people who came only for the summer, to larger more luxurious houses. So you'll have your pick of different price ranges.
