With the weather improving this weekend, I was hoping to get some suggestions on your favorite place to go outdoors in CT.

What is your favorite hike or walk? How about your favorite location to spend time outside?

Thanks

Bluff Point in Groton is a nice (easy) hike along the shore with access to a shell/sand beach (1 mile out):
DEP: Bluff Point State Park

Ragged Mountain in Berlin is one of my favorite hikes.

Check out the Sticky thread about things to do in CT on the top of our board, lots of outdoor ideas there.

Walking along the Farmington River trail is fun and scenic. The section that runs through Canton/Collinsville is wonderful!!

I love Bennett's Pond in Ridgefield. It does connect to the Hemlock Hills & Pine Mountain open space areas, which total about 1300 acres. The area is extermly quiet and you can hike for miles.

I love to hike at Lake Mohegan in Fairfield. A walk/run through the Southport section of Fairfield is beautiful, past the harbor and down to the beach. Sherwood Island in Westport is a nice place to visit as long as it's off-season.
