Any towns with animal shelters at which people have had good dog adoption experiences? Poor experiences?

They had a similar event last year which was a big success. If you are serious about adopting from the event make sure that you get preapproved. i believe the application costs only $10. The fair and shelter both have their advantage and disadvantage. You typically would be hard pressed to find a smaller breed at the shelter as fewer are turned in and they get adopted faster. So in that case a fair would work out better. Also if you are looking for a specific breed then you probably have a better luck at the fair.
