We liked a house near norwalk technical community college near connecticut ave. The neighbourhood seems nice with newer houses around. While exploring the area, i found out that there are few HUD rental communities not too far from the house we like(less than a mile)
How does it affect future property prices and such or anything else. I am the first time home buyer please advise.
TIA

The area is fine. You'll be happy there. Gets a little conjested during school hours or holidays.. If you ever need to leave but cant sell you'll have an easy time renting to a student.

But all in all, it's a good place to live. convientant to everything. Dont worry about the HUD rentals.

HUD rentals have not been an issue. That part of Norwalk is quite nice. particularly if you continue down Richards Ave beyond the school. Ive listed several homes in there. Its convenient safe with a good mix of people and homes. and even a couple of private associations.Go for it. But check the taxes.Norwalks are high.
