Funny, cause I grew up near Springfield, and that and Massachusetts are both liberal, not conservative at all in my standards. Not to mention, Springfield is more diverse then many places in CT.

I agree. Have you checked out the Northampton area. It is very liberal and has a lot of quirky shops and restaurants and a lot of cultural activities relating to the many colleges and universities in the area. Jay

If you are looking for inexpensive apartments close to West Hartford I would recommend Clemens Place or other nearby complexes on Farmington Ave in Hartford in or close to the West End. A newly renovated building just opened up near Aetna at 210 Farmington Ave that is a great deal if you are okay with the neighborhood.

Thank you all again
if you can afford it, why not try downtown Hartford, There are apartments that are practically vacant because of their prices. close to alot of clubs, although West Hartford has more restaurants, Hartford has more of a night life.

No, No, No, avoid Clemens place like the plague, I've heard it's got rats and roaches all over and the property management has been sucking for years over there.

Try anything past 500 Farmington Avenue, I live around the area people call "little Hollywood" and it's a nice area with cool restaurants. Where I live is a quiet area, but my building is starting to invite "undesirables" and I'm thinking of moving further West as it's a better area with, I think, Less Crime. Any where near 210 Farmington Ave...and you better not have a car over there. You might not see it the next day.

I've been to Northampton, and it's definitely a College Town. Definitely a place I would love to live in. There's like 5 colleges within a mile or two from each other and that area rocks during the weekends when students are around.

Springfield's gotten ghetto last time I was there.
