It would take a while to go from Danbury to Bridgeport. There is no direct rail service between the two, you would have to head south to Stamford and then switch trains to go north to Bridgeport.

There are a few nicer areas in Bridgeport, mainly on the northern side of the city. I don't know Bridgeport well enough to say where specifically.

But unless you plan on driving down Route 25 every day, might be tough to do from Danbury.

^^ South Norwalk is generally end of the line for the Danbury Branch for most trains. From there north to BPT

Ah. My bad. When I was living in Danbury, I used the Harlem Line and not the Danbury Branch.

Either way, the point was - it takes a while since you have to make a transfer and the route isn't direct.

If you aren't tied down to Danbury, i don't see why you wouldn't consider living in Bridgeport. There are good neighborhoods in the city and there shouldn't be a significant cost difference versus a comparable rental in Danbury.

While the campus itself isn't "bad" the areas immediately outside the campus pretty much are.

Within Bridgeport, I'd suggest the Black Rock neighborhood (western part of town near Fairfield) or the North End (northermost part of the city near Trumbull). They are actually pretty nice. You can also try all the bordering towns (i.e. Fairfield, Trumbull, Stratford), though they generally cost a little more for rent than even the nice parts of Bridgeport (Stratford sometimes has lower rents, but they have their marginal areas too and the lower rents are usually in those parts). Good luck!
