"MABEY,PAUL R Police Officer - Salary 2008: $141,089.03 # 84 on the list of highest paid cops in Stamford."

how does ANY cop make that much money? the guy is only 40. it's not like he's a veteran about to retire or something.

i find most of them to be hard-nosed arrogant jerks who won't hesitate to bust your balls.

My Grandfather was a CT state cop fo 30+ years, nicest guy you'd ever want to meet, he'd cut you every break he could...My cousin however, he'll make your life miserable if you give him even the slightest reason. Some people cant handle power and responsibility.

Bash him all you want, maybe it takes someone with a brain to realize he doesn't represent all cops...and you will be singing a different tune if the cops are a no show in your time of need.
I agree and disagree. Yes, I don't like when people jump to conclusions based on a news story with no hard facts...I hate it actually.

But then again, I am interested in calling "good" "good" and "bad" "bad" regardless of what the person "deserves". P*ss poor behavior is just that...cop, fireman, judge, CEO - whatever.

I'll hold my judgement until the trial outcome.

He works in Stamford which is one of the most expensive parts of the country and he works overtime for things like traffic control, street construction and major activities. That is why police and firemen are often on the list. You work long hours and get paid for them. By the way $141,000 in Fairfield county is not a lot when a very modest home costs $500,000. Jay

True.

When police officers make a lot of money, it's usually because they work private details. The department collects revenue from the details they work and pays them, but much of that pay is not coming from taxpayers but from people who paid extra for department services. As you mentioned, things like traffic details for private events, etc.
