Have you tried fixing your ipod first?
Apple - Support - iPod + iTunes

I have fixed a few ipods over the years by going through the troubleshooting steps on the website.

I purchased a refurbished ipod from apple (they have the same warranty as brand new) and it was great. I think all ipods pretty much work the same. The iTouch is nice ($199 for 8GB) as it can receive wifi. Now I have an iphone though so I use that for music. If I didn't have an iphone but needed music, I would probably buy an itouch.

Creative Zen Stone is a tiny player perfect for the gym. Walmart has them for $46. They also have a radio and microphone to record in addition to holding songs.

This!

To the OP,

I have a Cowon D2 (same company that makes the IAudio). IMO the sound quality can't be beat.

Here's their website.

They also support FLAC files which is far superior to mp3 files. The only downside is that they don't play the I-Tunes files.

My wife wants an Ipod so I started looking at them and I cannot believe they want $150 for a 8gig nano and $180 for 16gigs and you cannot find them on sale at all. I looked around on Amazon and found the Sony 16gig walkman for around $100 and it is getting good reviews so I may get her that instead. That said, I have a 2g sansa clip and loved it so much that I bought a 4g one and love that even more but she says its to small for her.

My Sansa Clip+ 8GB is beastly! It does everything a portable mp3 player should in a small package, without costing an arm & leg.

I'd like another IPOD Nano and have been looking at the refurbished ones on Ebay (great seller remarks only, of course) but have also been reading reviews on the Sony Walkman.

Can anyone please give me some reviews on the Walkman or some newer Ipod Nanos? I bought mine early 2008 or 2009, I really can't remember.

Also, I don't want the one Ipod Nano that shuffles songs with just a shake as working out and shaking go together and I don't want the songs shuffling without my desire

Thank you

All three MP3 players I have ever owned have been from Creative. Not one complaint with any of their models.

Apple did not invent the MP3 player, and they do not make the best ones out there.
