Like many others here, I have a 4 year old 65" Mitsu DLP, WDY657, with the white pixel problem. Just got off the phone with a very nice Mitsu rep. Told her my problem and she immediately told me that Mitsubishi would replace the part free; I only had to pay the $200 labor. They are coming next week to do the work. Not ideal, but better than paying full repair price, or getting a new TV again.
Good luck to everyone else!

And thanks to everyone for the helpful posts.

Anyone with the white spots on there Mitsubishi TV contact Mitsubishi directly. I did and they gave mr four company to choose from to repaire the TV. All I had to pay was $180.00 dollars and they covered the parts that costed $950.00 dollars. Now my TV is as good as new.

I just got done fixing my 65" model #WD-Y657 myself. Didn't feel like fighting with mitsubishi. Found the DMD chip (that is all that is needed. No color wheel or light engine) at www.shopjimmy.com for $159.00. Found a video on youtube on how to properly change out the part. From start to finish, the whole process took less than 1 hour. The picture looks just like it did when it was brand new. Very easy fix.

We started getting the white dots and also black a couple of week ago. Thanks for all your information. We have a 57" Mits that is 3 and 1/2 yrs old. We will either call Mits or order the chip and install ourselves. I was amazed at finding out this problem and how common is was. I hope it goes smooth. Wish me luck/

Try to ignore them. If they persist, try screen spackling gel in the tube.

Angry White spots on TV too

I purchased a WD-57734 57 inch Mitsubishi TV in March of 2008. I started getting white spots on the right side of the tv about four months ago. I did not know what was happening until I googled it and found it was a problem with their tvs. Now the lamp needs replacing. I called mitsubishi last week and the price for a lamp was $249 plus shipping and about that much for a service call to replace it. I went on line and found a lamp much cheaper on amazon with a one year warranty, the same warranty mitsubishi said was on their lamps. I am waiting for the lamp to come so I can replace it. I will not put anymore money in this tv and I will never buy another mitsubishi tv or a DLP TV. When I spend money a lot of money for a tv I expect it to last longer.
