Before I get flamed, I did a search for "smart TV" and nothing came up.

Our old standard tube tv finally began to die. We replaced the TV with a Samsung LED TV. It's also a smart TV. Our internet connection isn't anywhere near the TV but we do have wifi. Are there any wifi receivers for smart TVs to access the internet features? Are there wifi receivers that plug into the USB slots to be powered by the USB port or would we have to buy a device that plugs into an electrical outlet and the HDMI slot?

They make lengths of cat cable, it's no more complicated than plugging in a phone. The biggest issue is running the cable from the router to the device.

As far as the wireless goes our TV has connector in the back specifically for the wireless, looks like it's proprietary port and the adapter is bought separately.

You can buy a wireless bridge like this assuming you already have a wireless router. This particular model uses a USB port on the TV for power so that would be one less plug.

NETGEAR - Universal Wi-Fi Wireless-N USB Adapter - WNCE2001-100NAS

I'm not recommending that model, it's just an example.

---edit---

Just to add our Home Theatre has wirless adapter included. You'd have to check to see if your TV has one included.

Do we have a rep of flaming people on C-D???? I didn't think so...

What is the exact model number of your TV?
MOST Smart TV's do have wifi built in. Others need an a wifi antenna to be purchased separately. This would be just a simple Wifi USB stick that plugs into the TV, as Coleman pointed out.

You don't need to upgrade your router or buy any other devices.
