Let me guess it is connected with COMPOSITE VIDEO CABLES?
Check the connections. This is exactly what happens when one of them is loose.
If it's not using Composite Video cables the diagnosis is not good.
Finally got some time to look at it a bit more. Hooked up my laptop to the HDMI port and same red screen. Swapped HDMI cables, still red. Found some component cables and connected my Dish joey to the TV via that. Works just fine!
So, the single HDMI port is shot. The video looks just fine on the component, so I'm happy. It's a basement TV, so gets rarely.
There's really nothing sub standard about using component cables. HDMI replaced it because HDMI carries audio and it just simpler to hook up.
