Sony 46" KDL46BX450 450$
Sharp 46" LC46SV50 400$
LG 42" 42LV4400 500$
I can't make my mind up...
I watch TV only at night, mainly series and movies.
I would like to connect my laptop to it.
No need for powerful speakers -my neighbors wouldn't appreciate it-

Thanks!
Out of those three, I'd feel safer with the Sony. I'm assuming these are the 720p models?
I don't care what people say but I will always be a plasma fan. But as far as brands go, I would go in this order:Sony, Sharp, and finally LG. Don't forget to check out the spec as well. It may be a determining factor.

If I had a dark TV room, I would definitely go with a plasma since I feel you get more bang for your buck, but my TV room has sky lights, big windows and glass doors, so a plasma really wouldn't make a lot of sense in my living room.

. I agree. I had to darkened my room with heavy curtains to maximized my plasma.

I like the order of precedence here. Sony= quality, Sharp is okay while LG isn't the greatest. I'd ask what you want to with your set besides watching programs. IMO the connections on the side and back are important.
For example, I paid 1850 six years ago for a 42" Sony LCD projection TV. It has an integrated tuner (no cable box required), HMDI port, plenty of coax connections, sound system ready and capable of receiving a 1080i signal. I bought the extended warranty with the logic that the projection bulb would burn out after the expected 2000 hours use and a replacement (300 bucks the the time) covered by by 400 dollar extended deal. The original bulb has required periodic cleaning (the fan attracts white/fine dust), but still works fine. My versatile TV has met the test of time, different cable, antenna, camcorder, Wii, Xbox and surround system tests.
