I am planning to drive from Minneapolis, MN to NYC (~1100 miles or 18 hours). That being said, I was stunned to find that my 55" box fit in the Integra. As I understand it, it would be best to transport it 'standing' however, the vehicle does not permit this. Has anyone had success / issues transporting their HDTV 20 hours in this position? Actionable and constructive comments / suggestions are appreciated.
It's in the box, so no problem, But the trunk lid must close fully. I have a hatch back. When I have stuff hanging out the back from Home Depot only a few miles, I almost die from the fumes.
Well you know the TV came from Asia somewhere over the seas, some probably rough, and unloaded in a freight yard by some burly guy who juggled it around the yard shoving it into a cargo trailer and that vehicle traveled across the country over bumpy roads to the dealer where some minimum wage youngster hot rodding around in a fork lift unloaded it and stacked it in the back room until someone dragged it out onto the sales floor and to your vehicle.
So I would say it would be safe to drive it across country, padded and covered. It probably will thank you for your kindness...
I might have a carrier via uShip take it to FL. Any advice?
