Well I broke down and bought a used 105 on eBay the other day. 767.00 was the winning bid. It plays all of my hirez stuff, like the m4a files and the aiff files.

Incredible sound and vid. Won't be needing another source for some time to come.

My Oppo 83 gave me nothing but trouble, went back to OPPO for repair and did the same thing again not long ago. I took a hammer to it and threw it out about 3 weeks ago. My other 83 has been trouble free. At least my Pionneer Elite 05FD and non Elite 51FD are still perfect but very slow at loading.

The only problem I have with my OPPO 83 is it doesn't like not having a disc in the drive. It gets lonely.

So the next time you try to open the drive, it won't... Until you tap on the top left side of it.

Don't let your OPPO 83 go to bed lonely. Leave a disk in the drive.

Upgraded the Mark IIIs.

Svetlanas suck.

U.S.A. Made vintage Tung Sol Gray plate no holes is where it's at.

Also replaced the gz34s with Mullard-Hammond GZ37s. Those are the tall ones, the bridge rectifiers.

Had to change the room around a bit.

OP, you might want to join AVS forum, where you will find lots of people who are into high-end audio gears and stereo stuff.
