I have a Technics AVG Control Stereo Receiver SA-EX800
This receiver?
"This Technics AV CONTROL STEREO RECEIVER SA-EX800 features DOLBY SURROUND PRO-LOGIC. It was manufactured in 1996 and made for sale only in the USA."
If yes, then buy a new one.
I "resurrected" it [from last December 2020] partly because I suppose 'SA-EX800 Overload' internet searches will refer back to this thread for many years down the road - and my post might be helpful to other SA-EX800 users and bench techs out there.

I love old gear, I've easily repaired McIntosh tube equipment that rolled of the assembly line in 1958, still going strong today and worth huge $$$ on ebay right now.

I didn't actually say it was you that resurrected but the original post was in 2018. It doesn't matter, they actually encourage us to bring old threads back.
I would be willing to bet there are NO other SA-EX800 users (or bench techs that work on those) here in this forum. It's not a busy forum to begin with but you are right, searches would (might) bring this thread up.
Don't get me wrong, I am an audio guy. I love vintage equipment. I started in the 1970s as a teenager with my own HiFi equipment. Technics did make a limited comeback recently. I do remember their turntables, especially a vertical one, forget the model.
My uncle who passed away a few years ago had a Fisher tube amp/tuner from the 50s. That was when Fisher was a highly regarded brand. They are extinct now it seems.

Nothing wrong with that if something good is added regarding the topic
My sony tuner often goes into PROTECT mode when the AC comes on.. I think the voltage gets so low when it first comes on which makes it go into protect.... Im not sure why though as usually thats for HIGHER voltages.....
