I have the M40i so we can see the deer that eat our flowers, and will probably get a couple more for security.


For a fee, they have a cellular access plan, if one wants that.

If you have these things inside your home that would be one thing. But outside your home filming your front entryway/street, I don’t see the big privacy concern. If you want privacy stay inside your house.

I would be more concerned about hackers accessing the home WiFi. But is that not a problem with Nest and other similar products as well?

Sure, but, as stated, that's not really a thing nowadays. It's really not. No one is sitting in a van on your street trying to hack into your network.
Today's 'hackers' are sending you emails trying to get you to log in to fake banking sites, or impersonating people you know and tricking you into sending them gift card codes or geting you to click on a website that infects your computer with ransomware.

What am I going to get by hacking your thermostat? Mess with your house temps? OoOoOHhoOo... lol
